We offer Orton-Gillingham teacher development trainings for general education teachers and paraprofessionals in addition to special education teachers. We specialize in teacher development programs, inservice sessions, reading workshops, and curriculum development. Recently, Orton-Gillingham training for parent groups has become very popular. We have developed an Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory phonics program called "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers" for parents to use with their children. Title I funding is specifically targeted for many of these worthwhile projects. IMSE's Orton-Gillingham workshops for the general classroom as well as the parent training programs are aimed at early intervention. We want to decrease the number of students who are struggling with reading, writing, and spelling when they enter the 3rd grade. Our programs are also ideal for remediation of those students who have fallen behind or who have learning disabilities, dyslexia, or other impairments preventing their reading development. The Institute's Orton-Gillingham training is a multi-sensory phonics based program which can be added to your current curriculum to provide comprehensive reading instruction for all students.
